“There's a genuine warmth here, particularly from the new management, evident in the friendly welcomes and the care taken with meals - the steak and ale pie was quite something. While the decor might be a touch basic, the comfort of the beds and the thoughtful touches like complimentary biscuits and bottled water make for a pleasant stay.
